The City owes hundreds of millions of dollars to human service organizations, nonprofits, and community-based organizations that provide emergency food distribution, legal assistance, homeless services, mental health support, and elder care and more. That is an unacceptable way to treat organizations that are doing vital work on behalf of the city.
As Comptroller, Mark will work to reform our contract payment process so that beloved organizations supporting vulnerable New Yorkers aren’t left in the lurch. His plan, “No More Delays,” proposes reforming procurement and payment rules, requiring specific timelines for agencies to provide payment, and more.
